Cape Town is blessed with being the only place in the world where one could quite possibly see a Great White Shark and a whale on the same boat. Join us on a wonderful Cape Town day trip marine safari that takes us to see the mighty Southern Right Whale. From July to December the pods of whales grace the shores of Southern Africa. The tour is led by a team of knowledgeable marine biologists which makes it both fun and educational. Although the whales are our main aim we will also encounter other creatures on the boat trip. As we pass Dyer Island we will see the resident bird species including African Penguins and a Cape Fur Seal colony estimated to be around 60 000. We will pass the famous shark alley frequented by the Great white Shark. Other common sightings are dolphins and the less known Brydes Whales.  A wonderful adventure at sea for any age. Transfers are included from most hotels in the Cape Town city area.

Common questions

What time will I be picked up?  When you book a trip with us, the evening before your tour we will contact you or your accommodation to confirm the time of your tour. Trip times vary with weather and tide conditions. We will provide you with an emergency number in case you do not get your pick up time.

Where do we get pick up from? Any hotel or address in the Cape Town central area, please check with your agent if you are not sure.

What happens if the tour gets cancelled because of bad weather?  Whale watching is very weather dependent, if we have to cancel the tour the day before we will try to re-schedule you on another day or if not possible refund you less 10% administrative charges.

What are my chances of seeing whales? August to November is peak season for Whales, with good weather chances are 95%-99% in this time frame. The boat helps us to cover a large area. Every trip is preceded by a brief introductory talk about previous sightings in the area.

What should I bring? Always bring warm clothing as it is cooler at sea than on land. Waterproof/windproof jackets are available on the boat. We will provide inflatable life jackets. Please remember to use sunscreen. Please use anti-seasick medication well in advance if you are prone to motion sickness

Pro Tip - Always book your whale tour for an earlier date in your holiday program so that you have spare days to re-schedule in case the weather does not agree.
