3 Day Sossusvlei Camping Tour

Your 3-day adventure starts in Windhoek at approx 9 am. We head towards Sesriem, making a pit stop in Rehoboth for essential supplies. Passing through the desert landscape and the quaint community at BűellsPort, we aim to reach Sesriem by mid-afternoon. A picnic-style lunch is provided on the road, and in the late afternoon, consider an optional visit to Elim Dune for the best golden light before sunset. 

 

Our first stop today is Dune 45. We climb Dune 45 to witness the sunrise over the desert. After this awe-inspiring experience, we return to the vehicle for a light breakfast.

After breakfast, we jump on 4x4 shuttles and continue our journey to Dead Vlei, an ancient pan surrounded by sand and adorned with dead, skeletal camelthorn trees, dating back over 1000 years. We explore this area on foot and ascend one of the world's highest dunes offering breathtaking and rightfully famous views. Returning to Sesriem for lunch, and perhaps a refreshing dip in the swimming pool, our afternoon unfolds with a short excursion to Sesriem Canyon. Easily accessible by foot, the canyon offers a cooler environment, allowing us to follow the river's journey toward Sossusvlei.

 

On our final day, we head to Solitaire for a taste of the famous apple pie before enjoying scenic mountain views on the drive back to Windhoek. Cross Namibia's central plateau, passing through BűellsPort and Rehoboth, with a mid-afternoon arrival in Windhoek.
