Take a trip of a lifetime. Leaving the hustle and bustle of Nairobi we travel to Serengeti National Park where we can see an abundance of wildlife on the vast African plains. We explore Ngorongoro Crater on a 4 x 4 Game Drive. We take a hike up the beautiful Usambara Mountains and then make our way to Zanzibar and it's northern stunning beaches.

Day 1: Nairobi
Today our adventure begins with a welcome meeting at 6pm where your passport and insurance details will be checked. There are many optional activities to partake in if you arrive early like the National Museum of Kenya, the Karen Blixen Museum or Bomas of Kenya, an outdoor village showcasing some traditional homesteads of different Kenyan tribes.

Day 2: Mto Wa Mbu
Today we leave early for Mto Wa Mbu in our overland tour truck. We cross the border from Kenya into Tanzania. Along the way we stop at an ATM and a market or shop to gather some supplies. As we reach Mto Wa Mbu we have some time to familiarize yourself to this lovely little village. Tonight our campsite offers optional upgrades.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park
This morning we rise early for the Serengeti via the abundant Ngorongoro Crater in six person jeeps. This is where we can see some of the best game viewing in Africa. We can see wildlife like Black Rhino and others. This evening our camp is in the Serengeti itself where we can listen to the night-time noises of the wild.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park
This morning we take a game drive on search for Africa’s Big 5. We make our way back to camp for a brunch at 11am. We spend the mid afternoon unwinding and then have another game drive. There is an optional balloon ride that you can partake in. Once landing there is a lovely five star bush breakfast on offer.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park/Mto Wa Mbu
This morning we are up bright and early with the sunrise and we head out for another exciting game drive as we exit the Serengeti. We get back in to our overland truck and travel to Mto Wa Mbu. We set up camp and then take a walk with our guide around the farming areas and then we have a local meal in town.

Day 6: Usambara Mountains
Today we travel a long day making our way to the Usambara Mountains. We stop briefly to gather supplies in Arusha. Our destination is in Lushoto, an old German colony and the home to the Wasambaa people. Tonight we camp on the grounds of one of the oldest hotels in Africa.

Day 7: Usambara Mountains
Today we learn more about the Usambara Mountains, a stunning area of Tanzania. The scenery is breathtaking, an untouched beauty and the local people and villages are very interesting. We take a walk to the beautiful Irente viewpoint and as we return we visit a local cultural project based at Irente Farm and we have a delicious picnic lunch.

Day 8: Dar es Salaam
We travel away from the mountains, further south to the seaside town of Kipepeo Beach in Dar es Salaam. Explore the beach in your own time. Tonight our camp is on the grounds of a hotel with upgrades possible most of the time.

Day 9: Stone Town
Today we take a ferry to the ‘Spice Island’ of Zanzibar. There are some gorgeous beaches, cobblestone roads and fragrant markets. Zanzibar has a rich history to learn more about. We get the chance to explore the old part of Zanzibar’s main city, Stone Town. We can take a walk around the markets, shops, mosques, palaces and courtyards. There are some lovely Seafood restaurants in the area.

Optional Activities: Stone Town Tour – Dharajani Market, Joseph’s Cathederal, Palace Museum, Forodhani Food Market. Zanzibar – Prison Island Tour


Day 10: Zanzibar Northern Beaches
Today we can take a drive to the fragrant spice plantations for an optional guided tour or make our way to the beautiful northern beaches.

Optional Activities: Zanzibar – Spice Tour
Accommodation: Bungalow


Day 11: Zanzibar Northern Beaches
Today we can explore the area at our own leisure. Take part in the optional activities such as snorkeling, going to a lovely Seafood restaurant and unwinding in a hammock with a book.

Optional Activities: Dhow Trip, Snorkelling
Accommodation: Bungalow


Day 12: Stone Town
This morning we check out and head back to Stone Town where our trip comes to an end.
