Day One: Johannesburg / Pretoria to Pilanesberg
Pick up from your hotel in Johannesburg / Pretoria between 6.00am to 7.00am. We then travel west on a 2 hour transfer to Pilanesberg National Park. The Park is nested in an eroded volcanic crater and stretches over 44 000 hectares, the 4th largest National Park in South Africa . As we enter the park the search begins for a variety of bird life, the "Big 5" and other wildlife roaming the plains of this Crater. We "game drive" the whole day, stopping at waterholes and bird hides. Note that the morning game drive is conducted in a closed vehicle.
Lunch is enjoyed at restaurant inside the park. (own cost).
After lunch we board open vehicle game viewing vehicles and continue our search for any elusive animals. The vehicles allow for excellent sightings and photographic opportunities. After an exciting drive we check into our accommodation and settle in, relax and freshen up for dinner.
