Tour Review - 4 Day Tree House Safari

I’ve recently had the amazing opportunity to experience a 4 Day Tree House Safari in Kruger National Park.   I visited the park in the end of May, lovely warm weather in the day and chilly at night (the blankets on the game drives kept us nice and cosy), but have to say, this is an excellent time for game viewing.  The grass levels of the park was not that high and also not a lot of the trees have leaves this time of year, which led to our absolute highlight of seeing a leopard snoozing in a tree!   I enjoyed the night drive on the first night as I have never been on one before, the atmosphere on the vehicle is great with everyone searching for all the nocturnal animals… dress warm for this  The 4 hour game walk on the 2nd morning is highly recommended, we learned about medicinal uses for trees and shrubs as well as keeping a look out for big animals like elephants, rhinos and buffalos.  For lunch on the Day 1 and Day 4, we stopped in Dullstroom, a cute town in the famous trout fishing village where we had some time to walk around.

We were dropped off in Pretoria before 17h on our last day and decided we still had not have enough of the bush, so we went to Pilanesberg for a 1 Day Safari.  What an incredible experience, a beautiful park, more of Savannah than Bushveld which gave us great photo opportunities!  We were lucky enough to see 13 wild dogs which are an endangered species, as well as 2 lionesses on hunt for Impalas!  A great day!  Lunch was buffet at a 4 star lodge with views over the park!  A truly magical day and holiday, we were sad to leave…
