Kruger National Park Self Drive Lodge Safari

Day 1: Self Drive to Kruger National Park
Our Kruger Park tour is aimed at guests who would like to drive themselves, there are many car rentals in Johannesburg, Mbombela (Nelspruit) and Hoedspruit. Upon arrival at the Lodge we will enjoy a delicious traditional African lunch and some time to relax before heading out on our first Big 5 game drive. Traveling in open 4x4 vehicles we enjoy an afternoon / evening game drive in the private reserves of the “Greater Kruger Park” – home to the Big 5 and other African wildlife. We stop at a waterhole for some snacks and sundowners while game viewing. A traditional South African dinner is enjoyed around the log fire.

Day 2: Kruger National Park
An early start with tea and coffee, and we head for the Kruger Park in an open game viewing vehicle. We enter the Kruger as the gates open and enjoy a sunrise game drive. The early morning drive allows for excellent wildlife viewing as the animals are on the move before the midday heat. The especially adapted vehicles allow for excellent game viewing and photographic opportunities. We stop at various waterholes and viewing points while game viewing and bird watching along the way. We stop at one of the Kruger Rest camps for some lunch and time to stretch our legs before we head out in search of wildlife. The qualified guides have excellent knowledge of the Kruger Park and know all the best areas to spot wildlife. We leave the park in the late afternoon and head back to the lodge for another taste of traditional African cuisine around the fire.

Day 3: Greater Kruger National Park
Today we have the day at our leisure. Relax around the inviting pool and soak up the bush atmosphere or partake in one of the activities available.
Below are some options should you like to partake. In busy seasons it would be a good idea to book these activities in advance with your reservations consultant. Optional Activities are subject to availability.

Day 4: Kruger National Park
After enjoying coffee and tea, we head back to the Kruger Park and enjoy another full day on specially adapted open 4x4 safari vehicle, offering an excellent vantage point for game viewing. This is the perfect opportunity to explore other prime game drive routes and to spot the animals you may have missed on your previous game drives.

As per day 2, a packed breakfast will be served at a remote picnic site and we will stop off at one of the rest camps where you can enjoy lunch. After a full day of game driving, we make the trek back to the lodge in the late afternoon in time to freshen up before enjoying some delicious bushveld cooking.

Day 5: Greater Kruger National Park

Day 6: Kruger Park
An early morning guided nature walk gives us a chance to learn about spoor (tracks) of the various animals, stalk wildlife and more. After a hearty breakfast we bid you farewell.
